Intelligent maintenance systems

Equipment maintenance has traditionally taken place based on a set time periods, or even as the equipment is showing signs of failure. This is not the best long term approach. Using data gathered by sensors, intelligent decisions can be made as to the status of a pump system to predict when maintenance is required and prevent unexpected equipment failure. This approach will lead to more effective asset management shown in better planning, budgeting and scheduled replacement of equipment, a reduction in unexpected failures, lower whole life cost, reduced maintenance, lower energy usage, reduced call outs. This will drive the business to proactive not reactive maintenance, a reduction in breakdowns and associated carbon savings as equipment and systems will always be at their best efficiency.
