Ian Lisk, Head of Environmental Hazards and Partnerships, Met Office

Ian joined the Met Office in 1987 and qualified as a weather forecaster in 1990. He joined the Met Office College as an Instructor in 2002 and became increasingly involved in various WMO aviation and disaster risk reduction expert roles.

Following the eruption of the Icelandic volcano, Eyjafjallajökull in 2010 Ian took on the role of Volcanic Ash Programme Manager before becoming Head of Hazards and Chair of the NHP in 2013.

Ian is also Chair of the Natural Hazards Partnership and Vice President of the World Meteorological Organisation Commission (WMO) for Aeronautical Meteorology.
