Is our economy fit for the future?
Sustainability West Midlands (SWM) undertook a 2015 national review of Local Enterprise Partnerships' progress on addressing climate change, including flood risk. We are re-doing this review in 2017 to look at further progress made by all 38 LEPs and expanding it to include City Regions and Combined Authorities. We are asking: have you assessed your key climate risks? Do you know if and where you are at risk of flooding, and what type? Are you considering green infrastructure programmes? Are you supporting SMEs to become more resilient? Are you prepared for climate change and do you understand the economic impacts? By the time Flood and Coast 2018 commences, this review and an event, to which all LEPs nationally will be invited, will be completed and we would welcome the opportunity to share our findings. Are our LEPs really Fit for the Future?
