Utilising Enterprise GIS to Drive Efficiencies in Asset Management

With over 4000 assets spanning over 350km in the Tidal Thames, the management and use of existing and new data, particularly geospatial information, is key to effectively managing the assets through their life-cycle. TEAM2100 have created the Estuary Eye, a web-based information portal using ESRI GIS software, accessible to all team members and customised to the needs of the programme. The Estuary Eye is a highly efficient data system providing access to a vast array of historical and current data via an easy to use map-based interface.  The system includes integration with P6 and Sharepoint allowing users to visualise project status at an asset level. A variety of 3D data such as LIDAR enables the creation of user defined cross sections.  Several ArcGIS Collector applications allow asset inspection data to be collected and uploaded to the GIS database from the field.  The Estuary Eye also provides access to a wealth of geospatial information from drones, including 3D topography, HD aerial photography and HD video, all of which play a key role in enhancing the efficiency, safety and quality of data capture for the assets in the short and long term.
