Developing a testing protocol for property level flood resilience

Government policy is moving towards property level flood resilience but a dearth of knowledge and evidence hampers decision making during remedial work and new construction. Our research aims to address this issue by establishing a robust testing protocol based on understanding the performance of individual materials, building components that incorporate several materials and full building systems, The approach adapts standardised tests to be better suited to the context of flooding and makes the steps from material level to component level through lab tests and simulations.
