On Monday 16th March, the UK Government issued new guidance urging everyone in the UK to avoid "non-essential" travel and contact with others to slow the spread of COVID-19. Our primary concern is the safety of everyone involved with the Flood and Coast event as well as the wider public.
Three months ago, we announced that we would be postponing Flood and Coast 2020 in the hope of being able to hold the 3-day, in-person event in December, with appropriate measures in place to ensure the safety of our delegates and speakers. Our hearts are full of gratitude from the support we have received from our exhibitors, sponsors, delegates, and partners in the tremendous task of transitioning an event of this scale to a new date.
It has become clear in the weeks since that we cannot guarantee that an in-person event that includes everyone in our community, can be delivered successfully and safely in December. However, we know how important it is to bring our community together this year to focus on the climate emergency, explore the biggest challenges facing the FCERM sector and prepare for COP26. Flood and Coast 2020 will therefore be launched as a series of online events that cover this year’s themes.
We will continually update the Flood and Coast website and make announcements via email and social media with new information and resources as our revised plans progress. You can also contact our team anytime at info@floodandcoast.com.
Thank you. Please stay safe and support each other.
