On Monday 16th March, the UK Government issued new guidance urging everyone in the UK to avoid "non-essential" travel and contact with others to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Our primary concern is the safety of everyone involved with the Flood and Coast event as well as the wider public. CIWEM and The Environment Agency have taken the decision to postpone Flood and Coast 2020.
We are delighted to announce that we have secured new dates for Flood and Coast 2020 at the Telford International Centre for the 8th – 10th of December 2020. We invite you all to join us for these new dates.
Our vision is to transition all confirmed elements of the event across to the new dates, including speakers, exhibitors, awards, delegates and contractors. The conference will provide an opportunity to reflect on the key messages and outcomes of COP26. Our team has already initiated communications with all of the groups involved and you will receive more specific information about how you can take part in the event in December in the coming days. We recognise that many of you have given your valuable time and energy to Flood and Coast already, and we want to personally thank you for your continued support for the event in December.
We would also like to assure you that our team is still available to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have about Flood and Coast 2020. We will continually update the Flood and Coast website and make announcements via email and social media with new information and resources as our revised plans progress. You can also contact our team anytime at email@example.com.
We understand that it is a challenging time to consider your attendance at a large event such as Flood and Coast, but we believe that Flood and Coast 2020 will be an opportunity for our sectors to regroup and ensure that the important work we do together will continue.
Thank you. Please stay safe and support each other.
