BLUEcoast is a research project funded by the Natural Environment Research Council. The project’s aim is to inform coastal management by reducing uncertainties in the prediction of medium-term (year) and long-term (decadal and longer) regional sediment budgets, morphological change and how the coast recovers after sequences of storms.
Our research is focused on both physical and biological dynamic processes and brings together oceanographers, biologists, coastal engineers, geologists and geographers from research institutes, universities and non-academic partners. The project will deliver improved scientific knowledge from observations, experiments and modelling studies, which will enhance predictive tools for dynamic coastal environments.
